Our Team
Mtonya A G Deterville, Partner
Ms Mtonya Deterville began her professional career as a diplomat as a Foreign Service Officer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saint Lucia. She was attached to the Consulate General of Saint Lucia in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from 2005 until 2012. She served in various roles working with Saint Lucians in the diaspora throughout Canada, including high-level interactions with Canadian Immigration Officials at the Provincial Level. She also collaborated with other Heads of Missions and members of the Diplomatic Corps including the OECS and CARICOM.
Ms Deterville pursued her legal training at the Faculty of Law of the University Of the West Indies and at Hugh Wooding Law School in St. Augustin, Trinidad and Tobago. During her LL.B program, she was a student volunteer with the Law Clinic at the Law School and an internship at Deterville, Thomas & Co. Mtonya was called to the Bar of Saint Lucia in 2020.
Nandi A O Deterville, Partner
Ms Nandi Deterville holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and attended law school (College of Law of England & Wales and BPP Law School) in England, United Kingdom. She was called to the Bars of England & Wales and Saint Lucia in July and August 2008 respectively and practised at Caribbean Law Offices before migrating to Toronto, Canada. Ms. Deterville was requalified as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario, Canada and was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2017. Nandi was also called to the Bar of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in October 2023. She continues to hold a practising certificate in these jurisdictions while working in-person and remotely for her clients' goals.
